Proposed training plan

In this role you will provide legal support as a member of the Europe, Middle East & Africa regional team of the Travel Distribution and Strategy Legal Department to complement your studies in law.

You might also be given the opportunity to gain experience supporting the Air Distribution team and the APAC and Americas regional teams that are also part of the Travel Distribution and Strategy Legal Department.

You will be able to develop the abilities and attitudes which support the personal level of development required for a role in the Amadeus Legal Department.

In this role you will also gain understanding of how the Amadeus Legal Department, in co-ordination with the commercial organization, gives support on the business activities of the Amadeus Group, especially regarding customers (i.e. travel agents, airlines and corpora-tions), business partners and Amadeus Group companies worldwide.

Project description

Supporting the Travel Distribution and Strategy Legal Department in its day-to-day activities and supporting the Travel Unit in several projects towards simplification and digitalization, such as:

  1. Implementation and follow up of Contract Lifecycle Management tool in several countries worldwide;
  2. Implementation of and support to Learning Partner Agreements worldwide.
  3. Automation of new automated flows or review, upgrade and upscaling of current automated flows for legal and others operational or commercial documents with legal effects.
  4. Support to existing automated process in place for NDA’s and security certifications;

Accountabilities

This opportunity will enable you to support the Travel Distribution and Strategy Legal Department in the following areas:

  • supporting EMEA, APAC and Americas attorneys by preparing first drafts of contracts and other legal documentation;
  • due diligence of contracts;
  • preparing and following-up distribution agreements for Amadeus group companies;
  • supporting legal analysis and evaluation of risk in commercial transactions;
  • supporting maintenance and implementation of a contract management tool;
  • supporting EMEA, APAC and Americas attorneys by preparing execution versions of contracts and working with an electronic signature application to gather approvals and signatures of Amadeus group companies;
  • administering bankruptcy matters (e.g., checking status, liaising with collections team, drafting termination letters, etc.); and
  • assisting with the signature and filing of corporate documentation (e.g., board of di-rector minutes) of Amadeus group companies.

You will also support the team in the coordination of knowledge sharing activities for legal distribution issues (SharePoint, Amadeus companies booklet).

Learning

During the training period, you will be able develop and apply the skills and competencies that you will use as practising lawyer.

You will develop the skills through a mixture of the following activities:

  • completing work and tasks by yourself;
  • assisting members of the Amadeus Legal Department; and
  • observing experienced lawyers.

For example, you will develop the following skills:

  • present oral and written communication in a way that achieves its purpose and is appropriate to the recipient;
  • assessing, communicating and managing risk;
  • taking careful instructions to understand objectives, priorities and constraints;
  • prioritising work, meeting deadlines and keeping stakeholders informed of progress;
  • drafting documents that are clear, precise and achieve their purpose;
  • obtaining relevant information through effective use of questioning and active lis-tening;
  • finding, analysing and assessing documents to extract relevant information and rec-ognising when additional information is needed; and
  • understand the processes involved in negotiations.

Requirements

  • English: Written and oral fluency mandatory for drafting and review of contracts and other legal documentation
  • Fluent French and/or German and/or Italian would be strong plus
  • MS Office 365: Word and PowerPoint (Excel is a plus)
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem solving.
  • Ability to work to reasonable deadlines and targets.
  • Clear communicator.
